<span style="font-family: FreeSerif, serif;"> There
are many reasons strangers enter our homes. They might be there to
fix our internet, plumbing, or furnace. They might be delivering food
or other items. Perhaps, they are door to door salespeople. In most
cases, they arrive, do what they are supposed to do, and leave. There
are other instances, however, when their intentions are not
professional. There are many potential signals that the visitor
has ill intent.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">

<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: FreeSerif, serif;"> One
potential indicator is if the person is trying to determine if you
are alone. He might ask you directly but the criminal mind can be
much more cunning. For
example, a man knocks on the door of a house. A woman answers
then listens as he explains his company's free trial offer.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: FreeSerif, serif;"> Notice
how he didn't explicitly ask if she was alone but rather evoked a
response by expressing " concern" about walking up a family
member. Criminals can be clever and there are innumerable
examples of tactics they can use to to determine if you are alone.<br /> </span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"> O</span>ver the past 13 years, I have seen many Krav Maga students and instructor. Since this time I have seen various levels of progress. The ones who become the most proficient self-defense practitioners have the following traits:</div>
<div class="yiv5163614480p2" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8932" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px; background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 20.3px; padding: 0px;">
<span class="yiv5163614480s1" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"></span><br style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;" /></div>
<div class="yiv5163614480p1" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8934" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px; background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; padding: 0px;">
<span class="yiv5163614480s1" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8933" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"><b>1. Consistency</b>. Three, two, even one session a week consistently over a long period of time seems to lead to the best results.<span class="yiv5163614480Apple-converted-space" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"> </span>Some students come in, "gung ho" to get their next level, train 3 or more times a week then disappear for a time until the next test date. Their progress is relatively slow compared to the student who trains consistently week to week.<span class="yiv5163614480Apple-converted-space" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"> </span></span></div>
<div class="yiv5163614480p2" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8935" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px; background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 20.3px; padding: 0px;">
<span class="yiv5163614480s1" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"></span><br style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;" /></div>
<div class="yiv5163614480p1" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8937" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px; background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: ".SF UI Text"; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; padding: 0px;">
<span class="yiv5163614480s1" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511988839447_8936" style="-webkit-padding-start: 0px;"><b>2. Attention to Detail</b>. There are no shortcuts. A flashy gun technique entertains the untrained eye but a well-trained expert will see the flaws that could be fatal in real life. The A practitioner attends to details that can determine the outcome of a self-defense situation.</span></div>
